Is Sylenth1 worth the money? (Plugin by LennarDigital)

Sylenth1 (often called Sylenth) has been a long-standing, go-to plugin for many producers including some of the biggest DJs from around the world.

It has been a major player in Electronic Dance Music (EDM) production for a long time and still is a great choice to this day.

You can see AVICII use Sylenth and Martin Garrix use the synthesizer too.

What is Sylenth1?

Sylenth1 is a virtual instrument (synthesizer) that uses additive synthesis to generate sounds.

It is one of the most powerful synths on the market today and is very CPU efficient as well.

Here are some of its specs:

  • 4 Ultrahigh-quality unison oscillators in full stereo
  • 2 analog-sounding 4-stage stereo filters
  • 16 Note polyphony (512 voices)
  • 4 ADSR envelopes
  • 2 Low Frequency Oscillators with 11 different waveforms
  • 7 Audio Effects + an Arpeggiator

The list goes on.

Minimum Computer Requirements

To use this soft-synth, you need the following specs on your computer at the bare minimum:

  • Any CPU that supports SSE (Intel Pentium III and above, AMD XP and above, all Intel Macs but no PPC)
  • 128MB RAM
  • Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/10 (32/64bit) or
  • Mac OS X 10.7 or higher
  • Sylenth1 is available as 32-bit and 64-bit VST (VSTi), AU, and AAX.

What Makes Sylenth1 Worth the Money?

With its popularity, the question may have already been answered.

Yes, Sylenth1 is worth the money. But here's why:

  1. 2500+ Presets (yes, over 2 thousand five hundred.)
  2. 7 Professional-quality sound effects, built-in.
  3. Lots of presets made by others for free and for money.
  4. Free updates
  5. (Bonus) 7 Different Skins

The fact that it comes with a full deck of effects including distortion, phaser, chorus, equalizer, delay, reverb, and compression makes it really easy to design your sound and provides a ton of value.

Not to mention the bonus 7 skins that can inspire your creative direction if you are a visual person.

Is there rent-to-own or monthly payment plans for Sylenth?

Yes, there is a payment plan for Sylenth on the official Lennard Digital website.

The payment plan is €9.95 Euro (~$11.16 USD) per month and is the rent-to-own payment format.

This means you get to keep the plugin forever after you have paid off the license cost (which takes 14 months).

Conclusion

Sylenth is a great purchase and was actually the first third-party plugin I bought - the second plugin, if you include Harmor that I got along with FL Studio Signature Edition.

With it being a staple in my music production toolbox, I definitely recommend the synthesizer.
